Night flying
The night rating is the logical extension of the private licence. It allows you to return from you flight later without having the constraint of the day-light hours.
It is also integral part of the professional licence, without being mandatory. Indeed, it is possible to get the professional licence with the restriction of flying during the day only.
Example: a candidate that suffers from daltonism can access to the professional licence and fly during the day only.
Requirements
- Need a private pilot licence (including 5 hours of instrumental flight) and a valid medical certificate
- 5 hours of instrument flight time including the use of radio navigation aids
- 10 hours night flight time: 5 hours solo including at least 10 touch-and-go and 5 hours dual including 2 hours of VFR night navigation
- A recommendation letter from the instructor in charge of the formation
