Conversion of Canadian licence into American licence
An agreement between United States and Canada has been recently signed concerning the conversion of the « professional pilot and airline pilot » licences.
The terms of the agreement are largerly simplified, to have the official text, you may consult the following link from Transport Canada:

In brief, it says:
- Submit a Verification of Authenticity request form to the FAA Airmen Certification Branch, AFS 760;
- Have in his possession a valid medical certificate class 2 in order to have the privileges of the FAA professional pilot certificate;
- Totalize a minimum of 250 flight time hours;
- Must successfully pass a written FAA knowledge test, appropriate to the FAA pilot certificate or rating, on the areas of air law and communications. An acceptable passing score is answering 70 percent of all questions correctly;
- Should be bilingual.

To prepare yourself for the written examination, click on the following link and consult chapiter 12 and 13 of the FAA-H-8083-25 document:
For the medical examination with a FAA doctor, you will find in the area of Montreal, Doctor Pearlman in Dollars-des-Ormeaux near Dorval (514) 683-6799, then go to the nearest FSDO office with your American medical certificate, your Canadian licence and passport.
